Microsoft is bringing Hotmail to Desktop

Posted in Technology at 10:23 am by Administrator

I have long awaited this arrival. I even started to phase out my hotmail accounts(yes i have more than one). I started to just move to GMAIL and wanted to get rid of my hotmail accounts. Its pretty hard for me to phase out my hotmail accounts when I am registered to so many other websites using those emails.

Before, I thought Outlook was the almighty email program that could bring in all email accounts into one central location. Then I went to set this up for my Hotmail accounts. With this new software they will not charge to bring hotmail to your desktop. “The move is a shift for the Hotmail business, which in the past, has charged users who wanted to read their mail using desktop software rather than a Web browser. Microsoft charged $20 and more for its paid service.”

The fact is that i still need to phase out an email account or two. I have way too many accounts. Maybe one day i will go into all of these websites and change my email accounts that i have set up with them. Maybe….

Thought this picture was pretty funny and I know my friends from Chi-town will love this one.

My arm hurts!

Since were on the topic of baseball here are few Cardinals trivia.
What longtime Cardinals second baseman made his major league debut in the same game that Lou Brock collected his 3000th career hit on August 13, 1979?

Who was the starting second baseman for the Cardinals throughout the 1960’s?

What Cardinals starting pitcher in Game seven of the 1934 World Series collected two hits during a seven-run third inning, becoming the only pitcher in World Series history to turn the trick?

Answer all three first and you win a crappy prize of my choice. lol.

College Basketball

Anybody pick Bradley and Wichita State to make it this far?? I sure didn’t. I picked Bradley to lose first round. They were the only MVC team I picked to lose in the first round and here they are in the Sweet 16. Maybe I should jump on the bandwagon with Danny.

Anywho, there were a lot of upsets this past week and my bracket went to hell.

Grandpa Crotchett will be missed by all

Posted in Pics at 1:43 pm by Administrator

Grandpa Crotchett
This is a recent picture of my Grandpa and a relative.
Louis Lee Crotchett, 78, died at 2:50 p.m. Wednesday, March 8, 2006, at Jersey Community Hospital in Jerseyville.

Born March 20, 1927, in Rockbridge, he was the oldest of four sons of James Lee and Emeline A. (Abbott) Crotchett.

He married the former Elizabeth Mae “Betty” Thurston on Sept. 12, 1948, at the Kane Baptist Church. They were married nearly 52 years before her death on Aug. 19, 2000.

After graduating from Kane High School in 1945, he entered the U.S. Navy during World War II. After his discharge, he returned home and completed his senior year at Jersey Township High School, where he met his future wife, and graduated in 1947. Throughout his life, he held various occupations; however, he mainly concentrated on farming and retired from the state of Illinois, where he was employed at the Kampsville Ferry.

He was a member of the King Solomon Masonic Lodge in Kane for more than 50 years and was a devoted and respected member of the Kane American Legion, where he served in many roles, in addition to commander. He had a love for horse racing and enjoyed it throughout his life, but it came second to the love he had for his family.

Surviving are three sons and two daughters-in-law, Dennis and Mary Crotchett of Carrollton, David and Sherry Crotchett of Jerseyville and Brian Crotchett and his companion, Cathy Eberlin, of Kane; three daughters and sons-in-law, Linda and Tom Woolsey of West Palm Beach, Fla., and Barb and Glen Ketchum and Cindy and Doug Bean, all of Jerseyville; 14 grandchildren, Shawn Bean, Ryan Bean, Chad Crotchett, Seth Crotchett, Tom Smith, Mike Alexander, Jarrod Crotchett, Matt Woolsey, Trenton Crotchett, Jason Crotchett, Julie Henson, Kristie Bolanos, Marha Sessarego and Trinity Crotchett; seven great-grandchildren, Taylor, Kaylin, Mitchell, Brandon, Brittany, Ashley and Payton; and two brothers and sisters-in-law, Paul and Wanda Crotchett and Russell and Linda Crotchett, all of Jerseyville.

In addition to his wife, he was preceded in death by his parents and a brother, Delbert Carroll Crotchett.

Visitation will be from 3 to 8 p.m. today at Crawford Funeral Home in Jerseyville, where funeral services will be conducted at 10 a.m. Saturday. The Rev. Ed Haun will officiate.

Burial will be in Kane Cemetery, with military graveside services performed by the Jerseyville American Legion Post 492.

Memorials may be given to the Greene County Health Department or to the American Heart Association.

Monday, Bloody Monday

Posted in Uncategorized at 12:15 pm by Administrator

Talk about one hell of a Monday. I woke up and went to work, once I got there I already had an email saying something about an Emergency Release of our software and it looked like they had me down for a lot of things on it. Other than that none of us really knew what was going on. So we had a meeting at 10:30, tyring to figure out how we are goign to do this because its a 8.4 emergency release but we are going to release our 9.0 software before the 8.4 emergency release. What a mess. This meeting lasted about an hour.

Then I went to luch with a guy i go to lunch with all the time. Get back from lunch and I got another email saying we are having a meeting at 1pm to discuss the requirements and what not. By this time I was thinking what a fun Monday, all these wonderful meetings. This meeting lasted well over 3 hours, with no breaks. By the time I got out of this meeting my head hurt and just wanted to go home. We get another email right after the meeting got over and they wanted us to write out our questions about the requirements before we left. By the time i got out of the meeting the last thing i wanted to do was think about the requirements even more and write up some questions. So I pretty much just left. I couldn’t take much more of it in one day. I was in meetings for over half of my workday with people arguing about this and that and about how the customers dont even know what they are asking for.

Plus on top of it my mom called and told me my grandpa wasn’t do so well and that they didn’t think he would make it past the day. His kidneys has stopped functioning and he was breathing really hard. So I go home and eat some dinner then head to the hospital. I don’t think there is a feeling worse than seeing someone you care about laying in their death bed. I can’t hardly take watching that. It really wore me out - emotionally and physically. To top it all off I think im sick with the cold. I ended up going to bed at 10. I usually dont go to bed until past midnight.

As of now I haven’t heard anything about my grandpa today. I know his heart can’t take him breathing that hard for very long. So for now I just sit and wait and I am terrified of every phone call that I recieve. It’s pretty sad to think that my future children will never get to meet my granparents from the Crotchett side.

Thrice League Champions!

Posted in Sports at 9:09 am by Administrator

Last night we won our basketball league for the 3rd year in a row. We went undefeated again and have not been beat in three years. I think that this was a pretty huge accomplishment because we ended up getting 3 more teams this year in the league and a couple of teams added some guys to make them better. For our league we play the best two out of three games to 25. This year during the playoffs we didnt even lose one game. At the beginning of this year I didn’t think we would go undefeated and even thought we would lose a few games here or there. Just wanted to say congrats to my team. Great year!

I think we are going to play in a tournament in few weeks. A guy in our league told us about some tournament he gets in and we all talked about playing in it. I think it will be fun.
We also have some older guys wanting to play us for like bragging rights or something. These guys are not in our league but they think they can take us, so we say bring it on.
