This past Friday I got into a huge bar brawl. This picture is the results of that.
Just kidding. I was actually playing softball on Friday and I was playing second base and a batter smoked a ball at me. It took one crazy hop and smoked me in the head. The ball ended up going all the way to right field. It didn’t really hurt that bad and I didn’t think i was bleeding but then i felt some blood (which i thought was sweat until i saw it) flowing out of my head. I went to the dugout and put a rag on it. Everyone there was saying it was a pretty good gash and that i needed stitches. So after a little bit i left and went to the hospital and they ended up putting 10 stitches in my head.
I didn’t get to see the gash until i got to the hospital. It was a pretty big gash and it was actually my first time in the Emergency room. I thought it was my first stitches ever then my mom reminded me of my knee surgery. I forgot about those stitches. Anyway im all right and i think the doctor did pretty good at stitching me up. Hopefully its not too bad of a scar. This might have ruined my modeling career. Damn, what am i going to do.

I finally picked up my new Civic Hybrid on Tuesday. I know i have only owned it for a few days but I thought I would give my review of it so far.
So far things are great with it. On my way home from the dealship which was about 42 miles away I got an average of 49 mpg/miles per gallon. Then on my way to work on Wednesday i got 50 mpg. On my way home from work I decided i would drive like i normally drive which is about 10 -20 mph over the limit. Driving like this got me 46 mpg, which was still pretty great considering i got 12 with my jeep.
The interior is pretty slick. Climate control, plenty of room (even in the backseat). It has a cd player which is an upgrade over my jeep (only had a tape player). Power windows and locks are a great feature that the jeep didn’t have. I love the way the dash is set up. At night it has a few cool looking blue lights, instead of the same old boring lights that most vehicles have.
Most people seem to think that the hybrids don’t have any “get up and go” power. So far i can not complain. Of course it’s not a corvette or a Mustang GT, but i compare it to most other cars. I have not had it floored yet to see where it will max out at but i have been going 80 on the interstate without any issues.
The one thing i don’t really like about the car is the horn. I am not sure if this a Honda issue or what but it just sounds really wimpy. It sounds like the road runner from the cartoons. I guess i just wont use the horn ever. lol.
Thats all i have so far. I am really pleased with the vehicle. I will do more reviews later.

I think i am finally going to get rid of my jeep. I love the jeep but it just burns through the gas. I fill up every other day.
So I decided i would take the plunge and get a hybrid. I am going to go with the Civic Hybrid. The Toyota Prius is supposed to be the best one out there but I really can’t stand the looks of them. The Civic is right up there with the Prius but actually looks like a decent car. It’s not great looking but I am not really worried about the looks as much as the savings in gas $$$.
My jeep gets me 12 miles per gallon. I drive around 120 miles per weekday. The civic gets between 45-51 highway miles per gallon. That would be a huge savings. Plus the government is giving a Federal Tax Credit for buying a hybrid. That equals $2100.
The honda website has a savings calculator. It asks for how much i pay on average per gallon for gas. I put in $3.00 even though it is like $3.25 right now. It also asks how many miles I generally drive per day. I put in 100 miles a day. Then it asks how much highway gas mileage i currently get which is around 12.
Then it calculates your savings. In five years my savings would be $34,889.71 on gas.
It also gives a 10 year savings of $69,779.41. Those are some huge savings. I know this number will vary with the civic MPG, but even half of that would be great. Hopefully come Tuesday I might have my new vehicle.

Well I finished up landscaping a major portion of my house. My intent was to put on the before pictures and then show the after pictures but I have not yet taken the after pictures. I need to get around to that.
- Landscaping is more expensive than I ever thought. Trees and plants are not cheap.
- Landscaping really does make a huge difference in the way a house looks.
- You can save a lot of money doing the landscaping yourself but it can be hard labor, but it is well worth it.
On to the dog part of the story. My neighbor has 2 dogs. One is a puppy and the other one is older. Just recently planted some flowers around my shed in the back yard. A few days later i go back there to water them and there are holes everywhere and the flowers have all been dug up. The neighbor’s dog jumped my fence and has been digging like crazy all the way around my shed, and i mean digging. I never thought a dog could dig that much. So the other day we mention this to the neighbor. She kinda just yells at the dog. I know she will do nothing to stop this. I have ran that dog out of my yard how many times that past few days and I am getting sick of it. I bought some stuff online that is supposed to keep dogs away but I am not sure how that will work. I am seriously thinking about popping it with a bb gun, so maybe it will learn. Anyone else got any suggestions? It seriously makes me sick. I replanted the flowers and sure enough the next day they were all dug up. It pisses me off because i spend all this money to make my yard and house look nice, while my neighbors dog comes over and ruins it. I don’t want to be the mean neighbor and call the authorities but what else can one do??
Oh yeah I also have a mole problem that doesnt seem to go away. I have tried a few different solutions but nothing has seemed to work that great. I bought some spray that didnt really do anything and then i bought these super sonic stakes that you drive into the ground that is supposed to keep them away. That seemed to work for awhile but it seems like they are either getting used to the sonic noise or something. These damn moles tear up a yard too. All suggestions are welcome.

March is full of me watching basketball, from high school to College. This past weekend I went to the Missouri Valley Conference Tournament Championship Game between SIU and Creighton. Pretty good game but SIU’s offense could not keep up with Creighton. Faulker was also sick and it showed in the game as he was calling to come out and he also air balled a free throw.
This next weekend the 15th through the 18th I will be heading to Peoria to watch the Class AA High School Boy’s Basketball Tournament. Always a good time in Peoria…. cough, cough(Big Als, Par-a-Dice Casino), cough, cough.
I am a little disappointed in that a few teams that i wanted to make it have already lost. I was hoping a team from around my area would make it, but they pretty much all lost. I was also hoping I would get to see Michael Jordans 2 boys play. They play for Loyola Academy but they already got beat.
Oh well, I put in for a Media Pass to the State Tournament so hopefully i will be getting that and will have some pretty good seats, so that www.JerseyvilleSports.com can cover the game.

Today I was reading a sports magazine and came across an article talking about the website www.pbgl.com.
It is described on the website as “the place where major league baseball players show another side of their skills as they battle it out via online video gameplay”. It seemed pretty interesting, but I looked at the list and no Cardinals are in the league, but there a few big name players like Johnny Damon, Julian Tavarez (Boston Red Sox), Luke Hochevar (Kansas City Royals), Dallas McPherson (Los Angeles Angels), Willy Taveras (Colorado Rockies), Corey Patterson (Baltimore Orioles) Rodrigo Lopez (Baltimore Orioles), Seth McClung (Tampa Bay Devil Rays) Josh Barfield (Cleveland Indians), Craig Hansen (Boston Red Sox), Matt Holliday (Colorado Rockies), Derek Lowe (Los Angeles Dodgers), Prince Fielder (Milwaukee Brewers), and Mike Pelfrey (New York Mets).
I think to start off they are only playing one game and it’s some racing game from microsoft. I think they plan on adding more games in the future. I think it would make more sense if they played a baseball game since they are all pro baseball players.

I just recently bought www.Crotchett.net. Not sure what I am going to do with it yet but I thought it would be good to have maybe for family pictures and what not. I wanted Crotchett.com but it was taken and I think I contacted the person who owned it and he wasnt interested in selling it.
Maybe I will make it a portal so that all the families can upload videos and pictures. Maybe i will add a blog and forum, but im not sure how many people would write on there or update it. It could just be me. lol.

Recently I have been addicted to an online game. It’s called Kdice, click here to check it out.
Gameplay in kdice is similar to Risk with the primary goal of the game being to control every territory on the map. Me and a few friends have been playing it for the past few weeks. The other night I played it with 3 other friends and I was up till like 3 am. Not only is it the strategy I love but it’s interaction with other players.
The game is free and if you start playing let me know. Here is some more info on the game.

Finally booked the honeymoon this past week. We decided to not go the Hawaii route. We come to the conclusion that Hawaii is just to expensive to do this year. Hopefully soon.
We decided to do a cruise through Carnival. This will be my 4th cruise and my 3rd cruise through Carnival. The last one was pretty interesting, involving a hurricane who made the ship change its route and we had to stay at sea an extra day longer. Hopefully this one will be smoother sailings.
Here are the details. All of the stops on this cruise will be new to me. I am pretty excited about it and our next step is to book the excursions for each stop.

I have finally recieved my Masters Degree from Webster University. It will be nice to know that I am done with school(for awhile at least). I don’t think i will go back anytime soon. I don’t have to worrry about papers, presentations, or tests anymore. I am not going to know what to do with myself now.
Hopefully this will lead to bigger and better opportunities(maybe a nice little raise).
